New Museum

So, I know I haven't posted in forever but when I saw this it was a necessity. If you're in or around NYC between now and January 15, you MUST go to the New Museum for the Carsten Holler Experience. Although definitely DON'T go on a weekend you'll be extremely mad at the wait times.

It's legitimately amazing. There's a see through slide that you ride through three floors, a swing carousel, an immersion tank you can float in, an aquarium that has cut outs for your head so that you can lay down and look up at all the fish, and some illusion that makes you feel like your nose is growing. Oh, and let me not forget my personal favorite a love drug that you can sniff! It's been described as an art world amusement park.

But for real the slide is amazing, not to mention Holler's slides are famous, and he even has one inside Miuccia Prada's office.

Can you spot what's up with this picture?? KIDDING. It's the cover art for Watch the Throne and features Jay-Z's lips and nose on Kanye's face. Interesting.

FREAKY!

The man on extra creep status in this pic is Liu Bolin, a Chinese artist who paints himself into his surroundings and then takes pictures of it. You can tell he's extremely talented seeing as how he painted himself and if it weren't for him having feet I literally wouldn't have been able to tell there was a man in this picture. But, this whole thing is pretty unnerving.

Marc Lauckhardt created this concept typography furniture! Pretty legit, if it's available to buy by the time I need furniture I'll be purchasing.

It's being sold for $39k and some of the proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research OR the charity of the buyers choice. Paint Your Own Sneakers!

For 42$ you can buy all the materials needed to paint your own sneakers (if they're made of leather). Sold through Urban Outfitters the JGoods kit includes; preparation wipes, waterproof leather paint, mixing jar, brush, and an instruction booklet. Even though it's meant for sneakers you can clearly use it to paint anything leather......do I sense another DIY coming along?

CRUCIAL PICKUP

For about $9600 you can buy a book case/rocking chair designed and built by Thomas Mills! I love reading and one of these is a crucial pick-up for whenever I start a legitimate life. The greatest thing about it besides the fact it just looks legit is that it can also really rock back and forth. The only downfall is that because Mills is located in Europe if anyone abroad wants one you'll have to fly him out to your house so he can personally build you one-of course for around the same cost. LOVE IT. 

Hermes for the Kiddies!

Hermes is selling a coloring book (pictured above) "for kids and adults" that costs $130. It's twelve pages in length and has 24 designs to color!!

Well, let me start by saying you must have me mixed up with someone else to think I would ever in my lifetime spend $130 on a coloring book unless it was gold leaf/platinum paper and was only produced in a limited quantity, and even then I probably still wouldn't buy that.

If I led a life of crime I'd be holdin' down a PETER GRONQUIST creation AT ALL TIMES. And when that fateful day came when I was either dead, handicapped, or incarcerated I'd be rollin in one of his wheelchairs too!

TEMPTU TEMP TATS!

 My new latest obsession is Temptu temporary tattoos, I bought the Kat Von D ones and love them! They have so many more options other than the Kat Von D and the Dereon collaborations just go to Sephora.com and look! They cost 10$-25$ a box and come with way more than you see in the pictures. Not to mention they look so real! Whenever I have one on I always get someone who says, "Wow, I love your tattoo" OR "I never noticed that before on you". I know I'm super lame for being obsessed with temporary tattoos but I don't want to get a legit tattoo where it's noticeable so I can wear these for like a week and then change it up! LOVE IT.

"Barbie Marilyn" by 8-year old Autumn de Forest.

8-year old artist Autumn de Forest is truly gifted-a fact than is easily seen by looking at the painting of "Barbie Marilyn" that she composed. The third grader travels across the country selling her artwork and has made $250,000 on her paintings, the most someone has paid for her work was $25,000 dollars! My child better come out of the womb with some money earning talent like this. If your wondering what she's doing with her earnings don't worry, her parents have a trust fund set up for college and have been putting the profits into it.

She's so adorable!
